Service Report: 5.3 Gas Hob — Unsecured Burners & Loose Pan Supports / Griddles

Symptoms Observed: Hob burners are not fixed securely, and pan supports or griddles are loose — presenting a serious safety risk, particularly in the event of sudden braking or a road traffic accident where unsecured components can become projectiles.

Service Findings:

  1. Unsecured Burner Assemblies

    • Observation: One or more burner units are not properly fixed to the hob body, allowing movement during transit.
    • Risk: Loose burners can shift during driving, potentially damaging gas connections and creating a gas leak or fire hazard.
    • Action: Full inspection, re-securing, and testing of all burner assemblies to manufacturer specification.
  2. Loose Pan Supports & Griddles

    • Observation: Pan supports or griddle plates are not correctly seated or fastened, and can become dislodged whilst the vehicle is in motion.
    • Risk: In the event of an accident or emergency stop, loose pan supports and griddles can become dangerous projectiles, posing a serious injury risk to passengers.
    • Action: Inspect, refit, and secure all pan supports and griddles; replace any damaged or non-compliant components.
  3. General Hob Security Check

    • Hob Unit Mounting: The hob unit itself is checked to confirm it is correctly mounted and secured within the cabinetry.
    • Gas Connections: All gas fittings and connections are inspected for tightness and integrity as part of the service.

Recommendation:
This is a safety-critical repair. We strongly advise against using the vehicle until the hob and all associated components have been professionally inspected and secured. Please book with one of CCCAMPERS' qualified technicians for a full assessment and repair.
