Campervan, Caravan & Motorhome Electrical Certificates | EIC, EICR & Minor Works

Campervan, Caravan & Motorhome Electrical Certificates | EIC, EICR & Minor Works

Campervan, Caravan & Motorhome Electrical Inspection, Testing and Documentation

Arrange electrical inspection, testing and the appropriate documentation with CCCampers, an AWS Approved Workshop in Worcestershire. We can issue Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC), Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) and Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates (MEIWC) for the relevant work on your campervan, caravan or motorhome.

This listing covers documentation for new installations, condition inspections of existing installations, additional circuits, alterations and additional equipment without a new circuit. The document issued depends on the work carried out, not simply whether the vehicle or installation is new or existing.

The listed New and Existing inspection packages are add-ons to our Annual Habitation Service. They must be booked and carried out at the same time as your habitation service and are not available as standalone inspection packages. For additional circuits, alterations or equipment additions, contact us before booking so we can confirm the scope, documentation, appointment arrangements and price.

This is a workshop service for your own vehicle; no vehicle is included. Electrical installation work, repairs, replacement parts and upgrades are not included in the listed inspection package prices.

Which Electrical Documents Can CCCampers Issue?

New Electrical Installation

Inspection and testing of a new installation: Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), Schedule of Inspections and Schedule of Test Results.

Existing Electrical Installation

Condition inspection and testing of an existing installation: Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), Schedule of Inspections and Schedule of Test Results. An EICR records the condition of the installation and the inspection findings; it is more than a check that appliances switch on.

Additional Circuits to an Existing Installation

Inspection and testing of additional circuits: Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), Schedule of Inspection and Schedule of Test Results. Contact us to confirm the installation work and testing scope before booking.

Alteration to an Existing Installation

Inspection and testing of an alteration: Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), Schedule of Inspection and Schedule of Test Results. An existing installation does not automatically mean that an EICR is the appropriate document for new work.

Additional Equipment Without a New Circuit

Inspection and testing of additional equipment on an existing installation, where no new circuit is added: Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC), also called a Minor Works Certificate.

Tell us what work has been carried out or what you would like us to do. We will confirm the appropriate documentation and scope before your appointment. The document issued records the relevant work and test findings; it does not replace any repairs or further investigation that may be needed.

Electrical Inspection, Testing and Documentation Prices

The following prices apply to the agreed inspection, testing and documentation scope during an already-booked workshop appointment. For New and Existing inspection packages, the Annual Habitation Service is booked separately and its price is additional. Contact us before booking additional circuits, alterations or Minor Works so we can confirm suitability and scope.

  • New installation — EIC: Basic £199; Standard £299; Complex or specialist £399.
  • Existing installation condition report — EICR: Basic £149; Standard £249; Complex or specialist £349.
  • Additional circuit — EIC: from £149 per circuit
  • Alteration to an existing installation — EIC: from £199 per circuit
  • Additional equipment without a new circuit — MEIWC: £99 for a straightforward, agreed job.

Larger or more involved jobs are quoted individually; this is not a three-tier Basic, Standard and Complex price scale.

For additional circuits and alterations, complexity refers to the agreed work being inspected and tested, rather than simply the size of the whole vehicle installation. Tell us about solar, inverters, multiple RCDs, leisure batteries and off-grid equipment so we can confirm which systems are included.

What the price covers: Prices cover the agreed inspection, testing and electrical documentation only. Installation labour, parts, fault-finding and remedial repairs are charged separately. Scope and suitability must be confirmed before booking.

Work to address C1 or C2 defects, or further investigation of FI findings, is charged separately from the inspection fee. Contact us for a separate quotation if you need a dedicated appointment rather than an add-on to an already-booked workshop visit.

Why Choose CCCampers, an AWS Approved Workshop?

CCCampers combines campervan conversion experience with AWS Approved Workshop status, NCC Academy Trained credentials and NCC Level 3 12V/240V electrical training. Bring your habitation servicing and electrical installation inspection together in one workshop appointment.

The Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) is a joint enterprise between the NCC, The Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club. Approved Workshops undergo an annual independent assessment and must meet the scheme’s standards for touring caravan and motorhome servicing. Our AWS status is a workshop credential, not a substitute for your vehicle’s individual electrical installation documentation.

Key Things to Know

  • Electrical standards: BS 7671 Section 721 covers electrical installations in caravans and motor caravans. Part P building regulations relate to buildings rather than the vehicle installation.
  • Inspection frequency: The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) recommends an EICR for a caravan or motorhome every three years. Discuss an earlier inspection if you have electrical concerns or the installation has been altered.
  • Private ownership, hire and insurance: An EICR is not generally a strict legal requirement simply for private ownership. Requirements can differ for hire use, insurance or a sale, so check the relevant requirements rather than assuming the same rules apply in every situation.

Arrange Your Electrical Inspection or Discuss Electrical Work

For the listed New or Existing inspection packages, book your Annual Habitation Service and arrange the electrical inspection add-on for the same appointment. For additional circuits, alterations or equipment additions, contact us first to agree the work and testing scope. Selecting a documentation option does not include carrying out the installation work.

Tell us about your vehicle’s hook-up installation, inverter, solar panels, leisure batteries and off-grid equipment, together with any new work or electrical concerns. If you need documentation for an insurer, hire business or prospective buyer, share their requirements before your appointment.

Our Worcestershire workshop welcomes customers from Shropshire, Herefordshire, the West Midlands, Gloucestershire, Wales and across the UK. Book an appointment with CCCampers to discuss the appropriate inspection, work and documentation for your vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions About Campervan Electrical Certificates

What is the difference between an EIC and an EICR?

An Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) documents inspection and testing of a new installation, additional circuits or an alteration. An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) records the condition and test findings of an existing installation. CCCampers confirms the appropriate document for the agreed work on your campervan, caravan or motorhome.

What documents will I receive?

For EIC and EICR work, you receive the relevant certificate or condition report together with the inspection schedule and test-results schedule. For additional equipment without a new circuit, the relevant document is a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC), also called a Minor Works Certificate.

How much does a campervan, caravan or motorhome EICR cost at CCCampers?

Existing-installation EICR inspection packages cost £149 for Basic, £249 for Standard and £349 for Complex or specialist installations. These are add-on prices; your Annual Habitation Service is booked and charged separately. Scope and suitability must be confirmed before booking.

How much does an EIC cost for a new installation or electrical alteration?

New-installation EIC inspection packages cost £199 for Basic, £299 for Standard and £399 for Complex or specialist installations. Inspection, testing and EIC documentation for additional circuits start from £149 per circuit; alterations start from £199 per circuit. Installation work and parts are not included.

When does the £99 Minor Works price apply?

The £99 MEIWC price applies to a straightforward, agreed job involving additional equipment on an existing installation without a new circuit. Larger or more involved jobs are quoted individually. Contact CCCampers before booking to confirm the job is suitable for this option.

Does the price include electrical installation work or repairs?

No. The price covers the agreed inspection, testing and electrical documentation only. Installation labour, parts, fault-finding and remedial repairs are charged separately. Documentation does not replace any repairs or further investigation identified during testing.

Can I book an EIC or EICR inspection without a habitation service?

The listed New and Existing inspection packages must be booked and carried out alongside your Annual Habitation Service. They are not standalone packages. Contact us to discuss appointment arrangements for additional circuits, alterations, equipment additions or a dedicated workshop visit.
