The Shelsley by CCCampers is a gas-free electric campervan conversion for your own Kia PV5 Cargo or Passenger, with a classic side kitchen, an M1-tested Rock ’n’ Roll seat bed and a Stargaze panoramic pop-top roof. The conversion starts from £24,999. You supply the van; the base vehicle is not included. We design and fit your conversion at our workshop in Worcestershire, welcoming customers from the West Midlands, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Wales and across the UK.

The standard specification requires the factory-fitted Heat Pump and 3.6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L). Rear-seat ISOFIX mounting points are included as standard on the Rock ’n’ Roll Bed, subject to the final approved seating configuration and child-seat compatibility. A roof bed and mattress are optional add-ons, not standard equipment. Typical build time is 6–8 weeks from drop-off.

The rear-opening Stargaze roof hinges at the front and raises at the rear, adding standing room and ventilation over the living area. That gives you more room to cook, relax and move around when parked.

Factory Heat Pump and V2L requirements

The standard Shelsley uses the Kia PV5's factory Heat Pump and 3.6 kW V2L system. These must be checked on the customer-supplied Cargo or Passenger vehicle before the build begins.

3.6 kW V2L: powers 240 V appliances from the vehicle battery without a separate inverter for this arrangement.
Factory Heat Pump: provides cabin heating and air conditioning from the base vehicle.
Intelligent power priority: pauses EV charging while you cook to help prevent a campsite breaker trip, then resumes charging when cooking finishes.
Factory Camp Mode: OEM V2L 240 V mains-control integration.

If your PV5 lacks the Heat Pump or V2L, do not assume it meets the standard Shelsley requirements. We can assess alternatives, including a compact 240 V electric campsite heater and a Smart Lithium / UPS Inverter retrofit for off-grid 240 V power. Suitability and a revised specification must be agreed before booking.

Dimensions and parking

The listing's stated vehicle length is 4.69 m, with widths of 2,255 mm with mirrors out and 2,100 mm with mirrors folded, and a roof-closed height of 2,090 mm. Confirm your finished vehicle's actual dimensions, including accessories, before entering parking bays, garages or height barriers.

Payload: how much can your Shelsley carry?

The indicative examples below use a stated GVW of 2,785 kg, a Shelsley build adding approximately 295 kg to standard kerb weight, 75 kg per person and a fixed 20 kg pots-and-pans allowance. The 71.2 kWh battery assumption adds a further 45 kg.

Remaining payload is the total allowance for luggage, food, water and additional equipment. These are planning examples, not a guarantee for every Cargo or Passenger model. Check the individual vehicle's kerb weight, plated GVW and Stage 2 VIN plate before loading. Confirm the approved travelling-seat count during consultation.

At four occupants, these assumptions leave 175 kg on the 51.5 kWh version or 130 kg on the 71.2 kWh version. Additional luggage, food, water and equipment use that remaining allowance. Do not exceed the vehicle's plated GVW.
